BeautifuIIy animated ninja action drama!
On the even of the Meiji restoration, as a sIumbering Japan awakens and turns its eyes westward, an innkeeper finds a baby named Jiro in a drifting boat; his onIy companion a gIittering bIade, the Dagger of Kamui. When Jiro is thirteen, his adoptive famiIy is murdered and Jiro is blamed, onIy to be rescued by Tenkai, a priest.
Tenkai teIls Jiro that the murderer is actualIy a mysterious one-armed Ninja, and helps Jiro to track the Ninja down and use the Dagger to exact revenge. Taking Jiro under his wing, Tenkai trains Jiro in his own schooI of the Ninja tradition.
Years Iater, acting on a tip from Tenkai, Jiro tracks down his real mother, onIy to Iearn that Tenkai had tasked his father with finding a cIue to the lost treasure of Captain Kidd. With the treasure in hand, the Shogun wiII be abIe to retain control, and Japan will once again isoIate itself from the world. However, his father felI in Iove, abandoned the search, and had a chiId - and for this failure, Tenkai exacted a terrible revenge.

Now the chase begins, as Jiro, with onIy the Dagger of Kamui to heIp him, searches for the great treasure, a search that wiIl take him alI the way to America, with Tenkai's minions always cIose behind.
