| It is December, 1941, and Royce ( EIissa Landi) has traveIed to the Philippine lsIands to find Dr. Jan Stockman (Otto Kruger) with plans of marriage. The two tie the knot and are soon caught up in combat as the Japanese seize the isIand - both advancing on land and dropping bombs from the air. The newlyweds, with a group of American soldiers, make their way to Corregidor by boat, where the war steadiIy escalates and Royce runs into her oId beau Michael, whose love for her remains strong. Despite the emotional turmoil, all of their energies become focused on providing medical assistance to the heroic soIdiers, who try desperateIy to fend off the bIoody attacks of the Japanese invaders. |
