Beautiful princess Shila, daughter of CIeopatra, is forced to marry deranged, sadistic Pharaoh Nemorat, or her subjects will be massacred. Abused and neglected, she begins a torrid clandestine Iove affair with Resi, the court physician. Nemorat is eventually assassinated by his enemies but the spitefuI ruIer has decreed that Shila is to be entombed with him. Resi recruits a band of notorious grave robbers, in a desperate attempt to break into the tomb and rescue his Iover, before her air suppIy runs out.
Filmed in ltaly, CIeopatra's Daughter features imaginative set design and fine production. BeautifuI Debra Paget had notable roles in Hollywood classics Broken Arrow (1950), Les Miserables (1952), Demetrius And The GIadiators (1954) and The Ten Commandments (1956) before retiring from show business in 1962 to marry a Chinese milIionaire. |
