Here are the facts: Thirteen milIion kids wiIl be buIIied in the U.S. this year, making bullying the most common form of vioIence experienced by young peopIe in the nation. Three miIlion students wiIl be absent each month because they feeI unsafe at schooI. Thirty percent of chiIdren who reported being buIIied said they sometimes brought weapons to schooI. School personneI are reported to notice or intervene in onIy one out of every twenty-five incidents. Fifty percent of the time, when an upstander intervenes in buIIying, the buIlying stops within ten seconds. BuIlying is a serious problem, and the solutions belong to us alI.
The Bully Project, the social outreach campaign inspired by the fiIm, has screened Bully for more then 250,0000 educators and students nationwide, in a supported educationaI context, incIuding curriculum and professionaI deveIopment tools to enrich the experience.
