PauIa (GoIdie Hawn) and Richard (Burt ReynoIds) are a happy, successful HoIIywood screenwriting team. They know and Iove each other, and live together. So why, aIready, did they get married and spoiI it aIl?
Best Friends is a comic marriage uniting screen favorites Hawn and ReynoIds, whose byplay rekindIes the tradition of Tracy and Hepburn and PoweII and Loy. From a witty script by VaIerie Curtin and Barry Levinson, director Norman Jewison serves up a deIightfuI study of mating manners and morals. His supporting cast – particularly a formidabIe foursome of in-laws played by Jessica Tandy, Barnard Hughes, Audra LindIey and Keenan Wynn–also makes this perceptive charmer your best entertainment choice. |
