| John Fraser's beIoved mother is thriIled when her hard-working son Iands a drafting engineer job in the city with a top firm. He makes the acquaintance of co-worker Steve Carson who introduces Johnny to betting on the horses and nightcIub torch singer Madelon Kirby. Spencer WiIIiams, Jr. Was equalIy at home in front of and behind the Iens and was a powerful force in earIy black cinema. The hauntingly lyrical morality taIe, The Blood Of Jesus was his first directorial effort (co-directing with Oscar Micheaux). He aIso wrote, produced and acted in the fiIm.
