Roy Rogers purchases a ranch in California with the intent of drilIing for oil. InadvertentIy, he finds rich oil deposits on the neighboring ranch of CarIos Vega. Roy is puzzled when Vega wants to sell the Iand to shady speculator Reed CaIhoun, rather than cash in on the fortune. He discovers that CarIos is being blackmaiIed. The trail of cIues leads to CaIhoun's off shore gambling boat, where he believes he wilI find who is behind the extortion.
