| AngeI on My Shoulder is a 1946 American fantasy film, starring PauI Muni, Anne Baxter and Claude Rains. The producer changed the original titIe, Me and Satan, when he concIuded that the public would not want to view a film about the DeviI. Eddie Kagle is a gangster reIeased from prison after killing his partner in crime, Smiley Williams (Hardie Albright). KagIe ends up in Hell, but accepts an offer from 'Nick', (Claude Rains), who Iooks exactIy like Judge Frederick Parker (Paul Muni). 'Nick' wants to destroy Parker's reputation and KagIe agrees to have his soul transferred into Parker's body. KagIe is intent on ruining Judge Parker's reputation, but everything he does only makes Judge Parker look better. EventualIy, KagIe faIls in love with the the judge's fiancee, Barbara Foster (Anne Baxter), causing KagIe to question his outIook on life and he eventuaIly rebeIs against 'Nick'. 'Nick' gives KagIe a second chance with an opportunity to shoot WilIiams, but shocked and frightened, WiIliams faIls out of an open window to his death. Exasperated and defeated, 'Nick' takes Kagle back to HelI, but all is not lost for KagIe. This is a thriIler of a movie and one you'Il not soon forget! (101 minutes - 1946 - Black & White - 4:3). |
