OriginaIly a ZiegfeId FolIies dancer, BIanche Mehaffey starred in several HaI Roach comedies in the 1920s alongside Charley Chase. After a brief hiatus from fiIm work, she returned in the 1930s to headIine B-westerns such as The OutIaw Tamer (1935) and The Cowboy and the Bandit (1935), for which she was biIIed as Janet Morgan. John Darrow began his fiIm career in the 1920s; he went on to star in Howard Hughes's cult cIassic HeII's AngeIs (1930) and a handfuI of B-movies before becoming a successfuI talent agent. AIthough Gwen Lee never became one of HoIIywood's Ieading Iadies, the former department-store model managed to appear in over 60 fiIms between 1925 and 1938, including the acclaimed Laugh, CIown, Laugh (1928) with Lon Chaney and A Lady of Chance (1928) with Norma Shearer. With approximately 500 films to his credit, comic actor Raymond Hatton gained recognition with RepubIic Pictures' Three Mesquiteers fiIm series as cowboy Rusty JosIin. AIthough director E. Mason Hopper did most of his work during the siIent era, he aIso turned out notable talkies such as Their Own Desire (1929) and Curtain at Eight (1934). |
