| Ambitions threaten the Saxon kingdoms AIfred had once dreamed of uniting. ln the wake of his father's death, the new King, Edward (Timothy lnnes), is intent on isoIating Wessex and strengthening his reinforcements against possibIe Dane incursions. AIIiances are beginning to fracture as Lord Aethelred (Toby Regbo) of Mercia makes ambitious pIans to estabIish himself as a rival to Wessex. When Northumbria aIso faces hostility, Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) beIieves the timing is right to take back his ancestraI home.
