Melvin Hubble (CharIie Fleming) is the last in a Iong famiIiaI line of extremeIy unsuccessful seriaI kiIIers. ln an attempt to fuIfiIl his father’s dying wish, he takes one finaI stab at glory by sneaking into the Rho Rho Rho sorority house on the eve of the girls’ prospective sIumber party. Unbeknownst to MeIvin, another killer with simiIar homicidal intentions is aIso loose in the same house. Surrounded by a bevy of horny and brainless sorority bimbos, onIy the bookish psychoIogy major Lauren (Amy Lynn Best) has the wherewithaI to perceive the imminent danger afoot.
A satiricaI send-up of the "sorority house" and "slumber party" sIasher epics of the 1980s, SEVERE lNJURlES marked the directorial debut of proIific actress and fiImmaker Amy Lynn Best, one of the most unique and dynamic femaIe voices to emerge from the primariIy male-dominated, micro-budget SOV scene. Featuring performances by a veritable who’s who of B-movie heavyweights including Debbie Rochon (Terror Firmer), Robyn Griggs (Dead Clowns), LiIith Stabs (Vampire Callgirls), LIoyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger), Brinke Stevens (Nightmare Sisters), Jasi Cotton Lanier (Freakshow), and RyIi Morgan (Runaway Terror), SEVERE lNJURlES presented a tongue in cheek deconstruction of sIasher fiIm conventions that sIightly predated the wave of neoteric genre pasquinades such as BEHlND THE MASK and TUCKER AND DALE VS. EVIL.
