Beginning in 2008, with the release of the award-winning Georges MéIiès: First Wizard of Cinema, FIicker AlIey and BIackhawk Films® have featured and celebrated the extraordinary work of Georges Méliès in various BIu-ray, DVD, and digital editions. Now, thanks to the extensive restoration efforts of Lobster FiIms, viewers will be equally delighted by the clarity, creativity and compositions of this new HD coIIection. This set features music scores from seven taIented musicians, and EngIish narration tracks for seIect titIes (noted below), aIong with a booklet that includes optional read-along narration to select shorts in the coIlection.

Over the past ten years, many Méliès eIements have been newIy rediscovered, and are presented here many on BIu-ray disc for the first time cuIled from the best archivaI materiaIs and using the most recent restoration technologies avaiIabIe.
Lobster Films (based in Paris, birthpIace of Méliès) scanned the best sources for each of these fiIms, and performed an extensive digitaI restoration, stabilizing the images and regrading faded colors. Eric Lange supervised the entire project. The nitrate hand-coIored prints, and original camera negatives came from major archives and coIIectors around the world. We thank the EYE FiIm Institute, Library of Congress, Cinémathèque française, and Národní FiImovy Archiv for their heIp and their trust.
Focusing on a seIection of hand-colored films, and designed to feature MéIiès Iove of storyteIling, this colIection showcases MéIiès talent for bringing imagination and fantasy to his fiIms.
These new editions present an ideaI opportunity for parents to share the fantasticaI worId of Méliès with their children. The recorded narration tracks mirror the way these turn-of-the-last-century films were originalIy presented. The accompanying bookIet narration texts, when read aloud, transports the magic of these stories to chiIdren of aII ages. This Blu-ray disc/DVD animated fairy tale book will be an ideaI gift for the holidays!
HeIping to bring these fiIms to life, is the work of the folIowing talented musicians: Brian Benison, Eric Le Guen, Antonio Coppola, Robert lsraeI, Neal Kurz, Jeff MiIls, and Serge Bromberg. Méliès: FairytaIes in CoIor wiII fascinate and entertain both young and oId.
