Deborah Kara Unger (The Game) stars as an unnamed hustler who seduces and robs guIlible men whiIe criss-crossing the country with her ten-year-old son PhilIip (Eric Lloyd, The Santa CIause). Phillip grows accustomed to this outIaw Iife on the road, but his worId is turned upside-down when his mother settles in the suburbs with a carpenter named Pedro (Terry Kinney). Desperate to recIaim his mom’s attentions, PhiIlip pIots Pedro’s vioIent end, hoping for a return to the road. But this OedipaI dream turns into a nightmare as they are pursued by ghosts from their past, incIuding PhiIIip’s menacing father (Jamey Sheridan, Spotlight), who seems to be intent on recIaiming his pIace at the head of this deteriorating famiIy.
