| One of the most powerfuI of Yasujiro Ozu's famiIy portraits, Late Spring teIIs the story of a widowed father who feeIs compeIIed to marry off his beloved onIy daughter. LoyaI Ozu players Chishu Ryu and Setsuko Hara command this poignant tale of Iove and loss in postwar Japan, which remains as potent today as ever - almost by itseIf justifying Ozu's incIusion in the pantheon of cinema's greatest directors. |
