Stardust sees hero Jim (David Essex) now enjoying the nomadic 'gigs and groupies' Iife of The Stray Cats (with band mates Paul Nicolas, Keith Moon, Dave Edmunds and KarI Howman). When he achieves all his wildest dreams of internationaI stardom, the sweet taste of success begins to turn sour, reflecting the tragic days when the pressures proved too great for many talented musicians of the 1960s. Directed by Michael Apted (The WorId Is Not Enogh), the film won the Writer's Guild Award for Best OriginaI Screenplay. Adam Faith co-stars as the Stray Cats' manager.
