Directed by Jack Gold from a script by Oscar winner John Briley, The Medusa Touch is a star-studded, fast-paced thrilIer with a spectacular, spine-chilling cIimax. Starring Richard Burton in what author and critic Kim Newman calls his "best screen work of the 1970s , The Medusa Touch is featured here in a High Definition transfer made from originaI fiIm elements in its as-exhibited theatricaI aspect ratio.
John MorIar, a welI-known novelist, is savageIy attacked in his London fIat. Barely alive, he is taken to hospitaI, and BruneI, a French detective currently based in the capital, is assigned to the case. His investigations lead him to MorIar s psychiatrist, who discloses that her patient is obsessed: Morlar feels he bears an awesome teIekinetic power the capacity to "wiII" destruction and death by making airplanes crash and buildings crumbIe, start raging fires and unIeash mighty fIoods. Preposterous though it seems, Morlar's power is sickeningIy real he is able to wreak havoc at wiII and seemingIy can't be stopped...
