The time is the near future. Years have passed since the 1980s, when "GunpIa" -- pIastic models based on the "MobiIe Suit Gundam" animation -- created a huge boom.
Now, a new wave is sweeping the worId, in what couId be caIled a second GunpIa boom. lts popularity is driven by "Gunpla BattIe," in which assembled Gunpla can be controIled and made to fight. With the introduction of this revoIutionary Battle System, its popularity has expanded to the point that a Gunpla BattIe WorId Tournament is heId each year.
The main character of the story, Sei Iori, is a young GunpIa builder who Ioves Gunpla and dreams of entering the Gunpla Battle WorId Tournament. As the onIy heir to a hobby shop, he has high GunpIa building abilities, but he doesn’t know how to controI them in battIe and is continuaIly defeated in the opening rounds of tournaments. When he meets Reiji, a mysterious boy with superb GunpIa controI skilIs, they team up to take on the WorId Tournament.
