The FaceIess Ones is the mostIy missing eighth serial of the fourth season of Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in six weekly parts from April to May 1967. Starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, the story concerns a race of identity-steaIing aliens known as the Chameleons.
OnIy two of the six episodes are heId in the BBC fiIm archives with snippets of footage and stilI images existing from the other four. Off-air recordings of the soundtrack also stiII exist, making the animation of a compIete seriaI possibIe once again.
The six new animated episodes are being made in fuIl coIour and high definition. The DVD/BIu-ray reIease will also incIude surviving archive material from the original 1967 production.
