It's the mid twentieth century. In northern Chile, a boy learns to swim in the waters of the Loa River with his friends. Thanks to his unusual prowess and endurance, he becomes a spear fisherman in a small cove. Working alongside the local fishing boat crews, he masters the difficulties of the job and inclement weather, and learns the importance of family. His skill lands him spots in spearfishing competitions, and he gains acclaim at international tournaments hosted in Chile. Far away, the social unrest of the sixties and seventies begins to build.
