| She was an herbalist in her early twenties who lived deep in the mountains, only leaving her mountain haven once a month to visit the small village at the base of the mountain range to buy supplies and offer her services to the sick or injured. The villagers thought she was a witch because of her unnatural beauty and her reclusive tendencies, but they accepted her help when they desperately needed it, glad that she didn't live very close. He was a soldier, a general in fact. Though he was in his late twenties, the strains of war had taken their toll on him. His handsome face was hidden by a thick beard and a scar that stretched from just under his right ear and eye across his cheek. He was stubborn, prideful, and gruff, traits hammered into him by his superiors when climbing the ranks of the military and by a painful experience in his youth. What happens when an accident causes their paths to cross? Will they help to heal each other's broken hearts, or will they go their separate ways without a second glance? What does God have planned for these two? Only time will tell. |
