| It started with the bees. I felt so inspired by these tiny beings--seeing how hard they work and how they coexist so well with nature, how they create homes and share a collective goal for survival. Thirty, my seventh poetry book, is about that sort of survival. I feel so much self-love and confidence in myself for the first time in my life. After overcoming so much, I'm overjoyed to have made it to thirty years old. This book is a self-reflection on the past two years and a goodbye letter to my twenties. I've never made a book like this before. While there is some heartbreak, this book is full of positivity and romance, not just with another person, but with me. Self-acceptance is the most extraordinary form of love. I know this now, and hopefully so will you once you read these fifty poems. |
