The hum of a long dead engine fills the sky above Rhen, a small isolated town. Legend tells us that a lone conductor sits inside the train and waits patiently for the moment it finally reaches the soft earth below. Its wheels shouldn't turn. And yet, the lonely whistle echoes through the trees each night with a haunting wail. If the stories are true, the mysterious train man will soon step onto solid ground for the first time in generations. I'm here, as both Gideon the reporter and as progeny of this cursed valley, to be the first to speak to him when that day comes

There are places like this, where reality has grown thin, and the mundane borders on magical. Such things draw the attention of ill intent. A cult has emerged and gained possession of strange orbs that were lost with time. Such relics are capable of granting impossible abilities at devastating cost. People have been slaughtered for this power, and I'm certain that the train man had a hand in all of it. When that burning engine finally snuffs out, I'll be here waiting to catch the moment that this train makes its final stop.

The Train Man is a blend of cosmic horror and traditional terror, intended to leave readers wondering what else is lurking out there.
