| The great rivers that emanates from the womb of Ethiopia are spectacular bestows which gave the country the epithet 'Water tower of east Africa'. However, these great rivers drain out of the country contributing insignificantly to the National wealth. Primarily due to lack of technical skills and fund to budget all possible water based economies compounded with the geo and hydro politics of the region,the country was deprived so far from capitalizing them. The diminishing marginal productivity of traditional rain fed agriculture,alarmingly Population increment and the concomitant deterioration in standard of living threaten the survival of its citizens and put the country at a grave junction. This juncture calls for pressing duty and determination to launch an onslaught on poverty and all malaise in order to put the country on a path of sustainable growth.In repose to this tight spot recently Ethiopia envisioned a hydro political economic plan. |
