| The Golden Locket is a true romance ... a love story between a girl, her life and those who populated it.
Through two world wars, recession, proud poverty and days of boundless joy she told her tales. Story telling was a passion.
But one story - the best she knew - she kept till last. You are holding it in your hands.
Dorothy Kathleen Kirby made a promise to herself, her family and generations unborn that she would complete this book before she died.
She kept her promise and quietly passed away on the very day she was told by her daughter, Margi: "It's being prepared for print now."
Those who were lucky enough to have known Dorothy will see her brought back to life in these pages. Those who will get to know her only by reading her words will be enriched and delighted to have made a rare new friend. You see, Dorothy's book is a bequest and the simple significance of the little golden locket she treasured all her long, long life is her legacy to each of us. |
