    Inhalt:
The Girl of the Golden West is a play written by David Belasco, originally published in 1905. The story is set in a mining camp during the California Gold Rush of the 1850s, and follows the adventures of a saloon owner named Minnie, who is known as the ""Girl of the Golden West"". Minnie is beloved by the miners, but she is also pursued by a notorious bandit named Ramerrez, who is wanted for murder. Despite her initial reservations, Minnie falls in love with Ramerrez and helps him escape from the law. However, their happiness is short-lived, as Ramerrez is eventually captured and sentenced to hang. In the end, Minnie is able to save Ramerrez from the gallows and they ride off into the sunset together. The play is known for its romantic themes, colorful characters, and lively musical numbers, and has been adapted into several films and operas over the years.1911. Novelized from the play by Belasco, American playwright, theatrical producer and manager, the book begins: It was coming back to the mines, after a trip to Monterey, that the Girl first met him. It happened, too, just at a time when her mind was ripe to receive a lasting impression. But of all this the boys of Cloudy Mountain Camp heard not a word, needless to say, until long afterwards.
