In 1970 hippy philosopher-teacher Stephen Gaskin adjourned his class (see Monday Night Class below) and along with 250 of his students left San Francisco on a speaking tour of the U.S. The caravan of 50 buses and assorted campers traveled over 8,000 miles as Stephen spoke at colleges and churches about peace, love and understanding, and the changes that were sweeping the country. After several months the members of the Caravan realized they had become a village on the road. They left again to look for land and eventually bought 1750 acres in Tennessee, founding The Farm, the largest alternative community in the country. This new edition, like the new edition of Monday Night Class, released last year, is a collection of original transcripts, with new commentary by Stephen from today's perspective.
