| Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles
available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Robert Keeley
(born 26 May 1970) is an American creator of effects pedals. He modifies
pre-existing pedals made by companies such as Boss Corporation and as
well as creating his own stomp boxes. His most famous guitar effect
pedal modifications are the PHAT mod of the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and
the PLUS or FLEXI mods to Ibanez Tube Screamer. This is an example of
one of Keeley's modified pedals, wherein he takes a pre-existing pedal
and upgrades parts, and makes circuit changes to the electronics to
change aspects of its sound. Aside from Boss, Keeley has also tweaked
Ibanez and Voodoo Labs pedals. As of 2008, his most popular pedal is a
compressor which is a dynamic range compression based on older designs
but incorporating an Input Level as well as Attack Time control. |
