| Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) belong to a category of polymers that comprise a group of natural biodegradable polyesters which are synthesized by microorganisms. The vital properties of PHAs such as biodegradability, biocompatibility and non-toxicity make them appropriate for applications as biomaterials.
