Pepper, initially called Pepito, was a mixed breeds dog, also known as a mutt, which many people say is the best kind of pet to have. He had a rough time during the first several months of his life, spending much of his puppy time in a dog pound. A man who really had very little time to dedicate to caring for a puppy initially adopted him, and Pepper suffered for it.
