| The first year of college can be pretty demanding, especially for Simon Foxx, a socially inept photographer for the school's newspaper, whose only real strength is the courage of curiosity; so, when he wakes up one autumn morning to discover the End of the World already in progress, what is he to do? But when his curiosity-and his camera-rescue a remarkably bitter young woman from a fate worse than death, she allows him to tag along with her during a fantastic escape-into Earth's past!
