Gleam is a statically typed functional language that runs on the BEAM, the same virtual machine powering Erlang and Elixir. With a clean syntax, powerful type inference, and integrated tooling, it combines the reliability of the BEAM ecosystem with the type safety of modern languages like Elm and Rust.

This book guides you through the fundamentals of the language, from installation to building reliable web services, covering algebraic types, pattern matching, Erlang and JavaScript interoperability, and the principles of pure functional programming. Ideal for developers who want to master a modern functional language with strong compile-time correctness guarantees.
