Over weeks, then months, what begins as anonymous professional musing becomes the most honest relationship either of them has ever had. Théa writes about her mother. About the cost of manufacturing emotion for broadcast. About the growing suspicion that she has forgotten what it feels like to want something purely for herself.
What Théa doesn't know is that D is Jade Mensah - the network consultant who arrived on her production six days a week with a tailored jacket, a physical notebook, and a quiet mandate: assess whether Théa should keep her job.

Last Confessional is a slow-burn queer romance about the terrifying intimacy of being truly seen - about the sealed rooms we build to stay safe, the people who find the door anyway, and what it costs to step through it. Set against the pressure-cooker world of reality television production, it asks whether honesty witnessed by the right person can become the thing that changes everything - and whether two people who have spent their whole adult lives being excellent at everything except vulnerability might finally, together, learn how. |
