June 1958 - 29 May 2011) was an Australian actor of the 1980s. He
appeared in several TV shows and films before a car accident in 1986
left him severely disabled. Paul Jon Blake was born in New Zealand in
1958. An only child, he moved to Australia with his parents when he was
13, and he trained as a professional boxer before becoming a popular
actor on Australian television. He quickly progressed from a role in the
soap opera The Restless Years (in which he was credited as Sonny Blake)
to television miniseries and films. One of his highest-profile roles was
a starring role in the Australian television miniseries Anzacs. His good
looks led to him being named by Cleo magazine as one of the most
eligible bachelors of 1986. |
