Former BBC veteran Jon Sopel has had a long and varied career in both the literal and metaphorical trenches of news journalism. In Not for Broadcast, for the first time, Jon reflects on the good, the bad, and the downright embarrassing tales from a lifetime of making the news, including his story of leaving the BBC and starting The News Agents podcast. From having his BBC expenses rejected (not for the substantial bribe he had to pay to get his team across a border in Tajikistan, but for overspending on a bottle of wine when they finally got to their hotel), through to the real-time panic of having a devastated man wander into your shot as you're about to go live on The 10 O'clock News with a report on the Indonesian tsunami (only to discover you're about to broadcast atop the ruin of that man's home).

Honest, irreverent, personal and poignant at times, this is Jon Sopel at his best, and strictly off the record.
