Avery Weston is doing just fine.

Okay, so she's not doing as fine as her ex--award-winning actress and current television It Girl, Elise Hayes--but Avery has a good job as a Federal Air Marshal, a good dog and almost a good handle on her bitterness over Elise walking out on their relationship.

After Elise has a terrifying encounter with a stalker, she comes knocking on Avery's door, begging to hide out there for a while. After all, nobody knows Elise Hayes used to have a girlfriend, so Avery's house is the perfect place. Excellent. Living with her ex again when she's only just come to terms with the idea that being single is preferable to being hidden because your girlfriend won't come out.

No problem--she can totally put her feelings aside to give Elise a safe place to lay low. Except for a few tiny issues, like when you're still kind of in love with your ex and the mutual spark is as strong as ever, it's easy to fall into familiar habits. And with Elise's apologies and regret over leaving smoothing some of Avery's hurts, she finds those simmering emotions boiling over. But love and sparks aren't always enough. Avery and Elise need to find a way to move past the thing that came between them last time, and maybe they'll get a chance to go around and try again.
