This new edition provides a broad spectrum of different fieldbus protocols. Ethernet based fieldbuses, viz., EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Ethernet Powerlink, SERCOS III and Profinet IRT, have been included for discussion in the revised version. Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) and wireless sensor networks and fieldbuses have also been included.
