Günümüzde her sey, insanlarin kosusturmaca dolu yogun yasamlari icinde fark edilmeden hizlica akip gidiyor. Seker Portakali kitabinda hicbir seyin bizi sasirtmadigi andan bahsedilirdi; böylesi anlarin fazlaca oldugu bir dönemdeyiz.
Hayat, böylesi hizli bir akis icinde yasadigimiz yolculuklarla dolu. Her yolculuk da gecmisten baslamakta. Ben de kendi sanat yolculuguma gecmisten, cocukluk hatiralarimda yer alan motiflerden, essiz dogal boyalarin icinden gelerek basladim.
Hepimizin biraz görmeye, fark etmeye ve sasirmaya ihtiyaci var. Bunun icin ilk solo sergime Surprise meSasirt beni adini verdim. Bu sergiyi farkli seriler halinde cesitli ülkelerde izleyicilerle bulusturmayi hedefliyorum.
Seval Özcanin eserleri, cagdas soyut sanatin cok katmanli yapisina iyi bir örnek teskil eder. Sanatci, her türlü formundan cesitli estetik yaklasimlari bir araya getirerek ve klasik motifleri kompozisyonlarina entegre ederek, gecmis ile günümüz arasinda bir köprü kurmaktadir.

Nowadays, everything flows by quickly, unnoticed amidst the hustle and bustle of peoples busy lives. In the book My Sweet Orange Tree, there was talk of the moment when nothing surprises us anymore; we are in a period where such moments are all too common.
Life is filled with journeys we experience in such a rapid flow. Each journey begins in the past. I also began my artistic journey from the past, drawing from the motifs embedded in my childhood memories and the unique natural dyes.
We all need to see, to notice, and to be surprised a little. Thats why I named my first solo exhibition Surprise me. I aim to present this exhibition in various countries in different series.
Seval Özcans works are a good example of the multi-layered structure of contemporary abstract art. By bringing together various aesthetic approaches from all kinds of forms and integrating classical motifs into her compositions, the artist establishes a bridge between the past and the present.
