    The diet discourages the consumption of saturated and trans fats. Studies have shown that a diet high in saturated fats can greatly reduce blood flow. Reducing saturated fats may increase blood flow. The same is true for trans fats. Just as saturated fats can reduce blood flow, so can trans fats. As mentioned above, inflammation is a big problem when it comes to heart health.
