The last thing Lizzy expected when she exchanged the fey realm for the mortal one, was to find herself and her best friend being driven across the country by Andric Roche, a kavian hunter who had begun to worm his way into her heart.

But with the chilling revelation her mum might still be alive and held captive by the new breed of sane, yet monstrous, kavians, the search for the legendary hunter Connorbar Moore, might be their best and only chance at tracking down Madeline Hail's location.

With only a handful of clues left behind in a series of old journals, they have to do more than find the elusive vampire, they also need to convince him to help. Yet even Connorbar's aid may not be enough when the only solid lead they have is the name 'Sethan Blackwood'.

Time is working against them as they wade deeper into the vampire clans of the mortal realm, and in the struggle to find a way of saving Madeline, Lizzy may be forced to choose between her family or her future.
