| Ground water is main source of water supply in most rural communities in Africa. It has goodmicrobiological and biological properties in general as such requires minimal treatment.Unfortunately, groundwater is contaminated with naturally occurring chemicals. Firstly, we discuss about the general information about ground water. We also discuss Arsenic, fluoride and iodine in groundwater of China and An Overview of Arsenic Contamination of Groundwater in Nepal. Then we present A Review of Groundwater Arsenic Contamination in Bangladesh: The Millennium Development Goal Era and Beyond and Groundwater Contamination by Uranium and Mercury at the Ridaura Aquifer (Girona, NE Spain). After that we described Hydrogeochemical Characteristics of Groundwater Highly Polluted with Nitrate in an Agricultural Area of Hongseong, Korea and Depth and Well Type Related to Groundwater Microbiological Contamination. Review of Risk Status of Groundwater Supply Wells by Tracing the Source of Coliform Contamination and Areal Distribution of Ammonium Contamination of Soil-Water Environment in the Vicinity of Old Municipal Landfill Site with Vertical Barrier are also presented.We also try to describe Economic Feasibility of Irrigated Agricultural Land Use Buffers to Reduce Groundwater Nitrate in Rural Drinking Water Sources and Remediation of Groundwater Polluted by Aromatic Compounds by Means of Adsorption. Improved Sustainability of Water Supply Options in Areas with Arsenic-Impacted Groundwater Arsenic Contaminated Groundwater and Its Treatment Options in Bangladesh are also presented. Then, we give information about Technologies for Decentralized Fluoride Removal: Testing Metallic Iron-based Filters and Cost-Effective Filter Materials Coated with Silver Nanoparticles for the Removal of Pathogenic Bacteria in Groundwater. We also give information about Norovirus Contamination Levels in Ground Water Treatment Systems Used for Food-Catering Facilities in South Korea. |
