Knox Rennick is a hockey superstar who finds his once stellar reputation tarnished by scandal.

There's only one way to preserve what's left of his legacy and finish his last season on his terms-hire a publicist.

The only problem...

No one wants to work with him.

Overnight he's gone from the most loved player to the one everyone loves to hate. With few options left, the team's owner hires a promising intern, who's hungry to make a name for herself.

Sloane Cordero is determined to secure a future for her and her baby brother. Failure means not graduating, and breaking the last promise she made to her mother before she died.

But Knox isn't going to make it easy on her, because if he has to be managed, he plans to get something in return. Something the inexperienced Sloane doesn't know if she's ready to give.

She isn't the only one who might lose something. If Knox isn't careful, his fall from grace might not be the only fall he makes.

Two lonely people, one indecent proposal, a battle of wills that may give them everything they didn't know they needed, or left getting the Cold Shoulder.
