| Some books tell you how to heal. This one shows you what it looks like to build a life while still inside the process.
Built, Not Born is the memoir of Harshini Busireddy - a neurodivergent, disabled, and chronically ill survivor of childhood abuse, sexual violence, and complex PTSD. She found safety for the first time at thirty years old, after a lifetime of harm no one named.
This book does not follow a clean arc. It is not a before-and-after story. It is arranged by inner movement, because that is how lived experience actually unfolds.
You will meet Harshini in moments of acute survival, in moments of clarity inside collapse, and in moments where she is speaking directly to her body, her pets, and the world - sometimes all at once.
What runs through every page is a single refusal: to become what harmed her.
This book is for anyone who:Has lived inside harm so long they stopped seeing it.
Has been told their body is the problem.
Has carried more than any one person should carry alone.
Needs to see someone building safety in real time, not in retrospect.
Is open to seeing how often harm goes unchecked and witnessing someone building a different way.
Built, Not Born is not a recovery memoir. It is a record of becoming: brick by brick, scar by scar, choice by choice. |
