| This exciting volume collects three of Walt Coburn's finest short novels, two of which have been made into classic Western movies. "Rusty Rides Alone," a thrilling tale of a brutal range war, became the film of the same name, starring Tim McCoy. "The Block K Rides Tonight" is the story of Cole Griffin, who returns to Montana intent on finding the man who hanged his father years before. This story was filmed as The Return of Wild Bill, starring Bill Elliott. And "Border Wolves" draws on Coburn's own experiences as part of Pancho Villa's so-called "Gringo Battalion." Coburn paints the West not as it existed in legend or imagination, but as it really was. |
