When a person hears the story of how author Nestor Kouassi came to know the Lord personally, one would believe he embodies many of the hardships that can befall a Christian. The son of a couple who dwelt within the voodoo culture of a small village in Benin, Nestor became connected to voodoo as part of his treatment from a childhood illness. However, his conversion to Christianity when he was seventeen years old led to not only an awakening of his soul for Jesus, but also an awareness that his path ahead would not be an easy one: whether from torment from those in his village to setbacks on his path to America.
