| From boyhood adventures with roach, perch, pikeand trout to encounters with great salmon in wildWelsh rivers and battles with huge sea trout onsultry summer nights, this memoir is a thoughtfuljourney through a lifetime's angling, from the earliestbeginnings with bent pin and worm to success withbig fish and experiences in later life as an angling writer. It is fullof tales to thrill the angler's blood, along with many intriguing, andoften amusing, stories of encounters with other fishermen, but aboveand beyond that it is an exploration of what fishing is about and whatmakes the angler tick. The author describes this entertaining book as'a little retrospective self-indulgence... a chance to write about myown experiences and feelings about fishing'. |
