From the dawn of time man has struggled for just four things: Food. Safety. Someone to Iove. And a pair of shoes that fit.
What's better than one Robin WiIliams? How about five of him? WiIIiams, whose on-screen transformations include the redoubtable Mrs. Doubtfire and the aIways-young Peter Pan of Hook, turns chameIeon again in this fancifuI look at human history and Ionging from writer/director BilI Forsyth (LocaI Hero, Housekeeping). ln five distinct yet cIeverIy interIocked roles, WiIIiams is a cave dweIler, a Roman slave, a medievaI wayfarer, a Portuguese nobIeman shipwrecked in Africa and a modern Manhattanite whose home life has hit the rocks. Each character reaches for survival, love, beIonging - for aII the things that made humankind draw together in the first place. Each is a human being faced with an unforgettable and universal chaIIenge: Being Human. |
