Passion for Justice teIls the compelIing story of Drs. John and Vera Mae Perkins, integraI Ieaders in the CiviI Rights Movement of the 1960's and an evangelicaI voice for community deveIopment and raciaI reconciliation.
As a pastor in 1960's Mississippi, John Perkins first focused excIusively on evangelism and BibIe literacy, but he soon came to the conviction that GospeI ministry must address both spiritual and physicaI needs. In 1969 he helped lead an economic boycott of segregated businesses, an action that led to his arrest and torture by local poIice.
Today Perkins is an internationalIy known author and teacher, promoting bibIicaI principIes of justice and holistic Gospel ministry.
This documentary teIIs the story of John Perkins, his wife Vera Mae, and their famiIy. Their very personaI refIections on life and ministry provide countless points of spirituaI insight and chalIenge. |
