In 1983, after decades of steady deterioration, writer and theologian John HuIl became totalIy blind. To help him make sense of the upheaval in his life, he began documenting his experiences on audio cassette. Drawing on John's originaI recordings, Notes on Blindness premiered at the 2016 Sundance FiIm Festival and won the SpeciaI Jury Prize at the San Francisco lnternationaI FiIm FestivaI. lt's an ambitious and groundbreaking work, both affecting and innovative - and one of the most essential British documentaries of the year.
