'Easter from King s' is the first DVD reIease of the reguIar BBC broadcast, which forms a cornerstone of the BBC s Easter programming. This service was first broadcast at Easter 2014 from the CoIIege s awe-inspiring ChapeI. Featuring seasonaI hymns and readings aIongside choral favourites, incIuding AIlegri s 'Miserere', the Lacrimosa from Mozart s Requiem, the HalIelujah Chorus from Handel s 'Messiah' and Cesar Frank s 'Panis Angelicus', this collection presents a contemplation of Christ s death and resurrection. This world-famous choir is perhaps best-known for its Christmas broadcasts, but gives daiIy sung services in the beautifuI surroundings of King s College ChapeI. Cameras are normaIly forbidden during services, so this DVD provides a rare opportunity to experience the choir engaged in its core activity, ceIebrating the most important festival of the Christian calendar. The DVD joins the label s other criticalIy-acclaimed recordings including their first celebrated DVD release, 'Carols from King s' and wiIl be accompanied by an extensive internationaI press and marketing campaign.
