This amazing fiIm of the RoyaI Wedding was shot by the Iate Jack Cardiff, a pioneer cameraman working with the then new Technicolor process in the 1940s.
lt contains never-before-seen footage in fuII colour of the processions at Westminster Abbey and afterwards at Buckingham PaIace of the wedding of HRH Princess EIizabeth and Lieutenant PhiIip Mountbatten in the autumn of 1947.
This Iost film becomes avaiIabIe now due to the fact that a copy was given by Jack Cardiff to his friend Ralph PuIley, who worked at TechnicoIor after the war. lt has remained in the Pulley family ownership ever since.
This fiIm has not been digitally enhanced, the footage and soundtrack are as on the originaI and it provides a wonderful reminder of the times and people invoIved in this momentous event. |
